Recently, we have seen a few changes that look promising. Visa applications for offshore family members of low-skilled and mid-skilled visa holders will open in February 2021, and will be granted subject to borders being opened. In addition, we recently helped a candidate stuck offshore enter New Zealand, who had a current work visa and was normally residing in New Zealand. The new Border Criteria for normally resident work visa holders means there is still some flexibility in bringing current visa holders back into New Zealand.
